Project Description: | 499 Main Street South (SW corner) The proposal seeks to redevelop a vacant parcel at the southwest corner of the Shopping Centre “the site” that once contained the bus terminal, before it was relocated to the corner of Main Street South and Steeles Avenue West. The proposal will create two landmark buildings at the intersection of Steeles Avenue West and future Street 2, which will align with Lancashire Lane on the south side of Steeles Avenue West. The proposed buildings and the associated landscaping and public realm improvements will create a vibrant gateway that will anchor the transformed Uptown Brampton.
The Site Plan Application proposes two 35-storey residential towers, one rental and one condominium, with a combined 49,658.3 m2 (534,517.2ft2) of residential Gross Floor Area (GFA) and 759 units. The proposal also provides 1,183.6 m2 (12,740 ft2) of indoor amenity space, and 1,510 m2 (16,253.5 ft2) of outdoor amenity space. A mix of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units are proposed. 536 resident parking spaces are provided in a 5-level underground parking structure. In addition, 76 visitor parking spaces are provided at grade outside of the Site Plan area through a parking sharing arrangement with the shopping centre. |
